Position Responsibilities:
Senior Patrol Leader: Plans PLC meetings and troop meetings and supervise the meetings. Appoints other junior leaders (with adult assistance). Assigns duties and responsibilities to junior leaders. Assists the Scoutmaster with junior Leader training. Sets a good example for other troop members. Wears scout uniform properly and follows scout law.
A.S.P.L: Fills in in the absence of the SPL, or at his request. Helps SPL lead meetings and activities. Supervises and trains the other positions. Sets a good example. Wears scout uniform properly. Follows scout law. Leads by example.
Patrol Leader: Plans patrol events. Responsible for their patrol. Keep patrol members informed. Make a duty roster for each camping trip and meeting. Prepare patrol to participate in activities. Learn each patrol members capabilities. Represents his patrol in troop planning meetings. Leads by example.
Asst. Patrol Leader: Fills in in the absence of patrol leader. Wears uniform. Leads by example.
Bugler: Play bugle to get everyone’s attention, as requested by leaders. Revelry, Taps.. SPL can use bugler to call group to fall in. Wears uniform. Leads by example.
Scribe: Keeps notes at PLC meetings. Records attendance, dues payment and Scout advancements. Works with adults to keep records and troop finances updated. Wears uniform. Leads by example.
Librarian: Keeps track of merit badge books and who has them. Finds out what books members want that we don’t already have and what books need to be replaced.
Quartermaster: Keeps track of patrol/troop equipment. Makes sure equipment is in good working condition. Issues equipment and makes sure it is returned and cared for. Takes care of repair/replacement. (takes equipment problems to adult quartermaster). Makes suggestions for new or replacement items, and works with troop committee member responsible for equipment. Wears uniform. Follows scout law. Leads by example.
Chaplain Aide: Must be mature and sensitive, and have earned the trust of his fellow scouts. Assists team and chaplain with religious services at troop activities. Encourages troop members to strengthen their own relationship with God. Helps recognize troop members who have earned religious emblems. Helps plan for religious observations at group activities. Promotes the saying of grace at meals. Wears uniform. Follows scout law. Leads by example.
Troop Guide: Helps lead new patrols until they are ready to self-lead. Introduces new scouts to troop operations. Helps new scouts achieve their 1st class rank their first year. Coaches patrol leader of new patrol on his duties.
Order of the Arrow Rep.: Attends OA meetings and reports to OA member in the troop. Serves as a communication link between the troop and the chapter. Arranges troop elections. Leads at least service project every year. Leads by example. Wears uniform. Follows Scout law.
Den Chief: Attends and helps lead weekly den meetings. Befriends boys in the den. Knows the importance of monthly pack meetings. Wears uniform. Follows scout law. Leads by example.
Historian: Keeps website updated. Takes care of trophies, troop memorabilia, materials in the showcase. Gathers pictures and facts about the troop and keeps them in some kind of book.
Leave No Trace Rep: Helps the troops learn how to leave no trace.
